A few “okes” have recently got together and launched their own London based South African radio station. Good luck to them, I know quite a few people in London who continue to listen to 5fm via live streaming so maybe they can grab that market.
We have our own newspapers, our own bars/nightclubs, shops selling stuff from home on practically every corner, until recently our own SKY TV channel and now our own radio station! Don’t we come to London to get away from SA, hell no, we come here to work long, play hard and travel far!
Oh yeah, and my favourite, Nando’s on every street corner!

Jawelnofine! In my job I get to fly for free all around Europe. So much so that I am sick n sat of Heathrow (both departures and especially the arrivals & being stacked in the air waiting for a 30 minutes for a slot etc)
But I agree with you. We are known to be hard workers and I do employ SAFFERS in my department. Some have stayed on as perm staff and as luck will have it - they get the chance, (if they want & apply) to go work in Australia or USA after they have completed a year with us.
Meanwhile we play hard too. Nice blog. Cool.

Robert, I had different ideas about this place when I arrived 3 years ago to the ones I have now.
I originally came here to experience a life outside of SA but have found myself craving South African company, food, music etc. I do have lots of english, aussie etc mates and consider that I have integrated myself properly into London and british life, but still firmly holding onto my South African roots.
BTW, what do you do?
