Go the O’s

Baseball season kicked off in the states last night. For those of you that don’t know a regular Baseball seasons sees each team play a game approximately 6 times a week and ultimately playing over 160 games a season.

Last night the Baltimore Orioles, my team in the American league, had a good opening victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In the National League the Washington Nationals lost but hopefully, in their second year of competion ever,  they’ll be able to continue the success they achieved in last year.

My predictions for this year - the LA Angels or the Oakland Atheletics will win the World Series.

So, it’s either the A’s or the A’s  but unfortunately not the O’s and definitely neither of the sox’s.

“each team play a game approximately 6 times a week”

Shite, I never knew that. The question is could the larger sides sell out stadiums six times a week?

Who won the World Cup? I don’t mean the world series, I’m referring to the tournie they just had with all the nations. I saw it one day and USA were catching a BIG poke in their group.

Wezzo, its amazing innit?! The Orioles have got only one day off between now and the end of this month. Check out the Orioles fixture list http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=bal
Cal Ripken Jr (played for the O’s) has the record for most consecutive games played without missing a single game, 2,632 games in one consecutive streak for the Orioles spanning 16 years. Truly amazing, read about him here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cal_Ripken_Jr, the story is fascinating, his kids were even born on days the Orioles weren’t playing!

Peksta, Cuba won the World Baseball Classic. I think it’s a big thing, but I was in the States when the tourney started and nobody knew a thing about it!

BTW, the larger sides do regularly sell out stadiums, Yankees, Red Sox etc!

Any chance of an update or are you waiting for the Cats to win a game?
