Roadtrip to Paris

To those outside London who didn’t receive the email (published later in the aritcle) I have planned a trip to Paris for the South Africa vs France game in November. We will leave London on Friday and return on Sunday evening only after we have spent two raucous nights in Paris knocking seven bells of you know what out of their rugby team and national beer (and wine I suppose) supply.

The trip has turned out to be relatively cheap in comparison to the current packages on the market, but I am trying to reduce costs by booking tickets and hotels direct. If you are keen to join the weekend rugby trip of a lifetime, then drop me a line asap. There are a few places left but they’re unlikely to be there long.

France vs The Mighty Springboks - 26 November 2005, Stade de France, Paris.

Pencil it in your diary right now, for this will be the greatest, most enjoyable day of your life. You have the opportunity to join a wild bunch of 12 South African males in a minbus headed for Paris and a stadium filled with 80 000 screaming Frenchmen. You will bear witness to what will undoubtedly be a crushing Springbok victory over Les Bleus.

The minbus will be adorned with flags, the Clegg and Kramer tunes will be belted out through the French countryside and the beer will be flowing down our throats quicker than Steve “The Saffa Hoff” Hofmeyer can say “Bokke”.

Gents I have put together a package around a luxury minibus of 10 - 12 people leaving London at around 2pm on Friday 25th November, catching a ferry to Calais and then driving through to Paris for 2 nights hotel accommodation (breakfast included) and returning on the Sunday arriving into London around 8pm. Naturally your match ticket is included and the tickets will all be seated together.

I have arranged the Minibus and ferry crossing separately and to save the trouble of finding match tickets (sitting together is a priority) I have booked the Hotel and Match ticket through a tour company. This has unfortunately pushed the ticket price up considerably but these opportunities come along once in a life time, and that is why it will be done right at any cost.

The cost of this memorable weekend is £220 per person, this is the maximum cost for the entire trip and includes:

- 2 Nights 2/3* Hotel in central Paris, Breakfast included.

- Match Ticket to France v SA, all seated together.

- Supporters T-Shirt.

- Luxury Minibus : 15 seater, Insurance waiver, additional driver, Greencard, roadside assistance Europe, etc.

- Additional mileage costs.

- Petrol to and from Paris.

- Ferry ticket.

- Most importantly the bus WILL be stocked with beer for the trip to Paris.

Please contact me asafp if you are interested in joining the party bus to Paris. I am hoping to have a mixture of crazy gang South Africans on the bus ie. Not everybody from the same group of friends so please feel free to send this to your mates and get back to me with numbers. I do require a deposit from everybody, even my mates, so please ensure that you are able to pay me cash and not credit card. I require the first deposit payment of £40 by no later than next Wednesday 17th August. Spaces will be made available on a first come first served basis, so guys please let me know straight away if you’re keen. Because I require cash, I will take a second payment of £100 from you by no later than 10th October, the final payment of £80 will be due on 16th November a week and a half before we depart. Of course you can always pay me up front, in full, at any stage, but I do require you to meet the minimum payment deadlines otherwise you DO risk losing your deposit.

Guys I am doing this because it will be one hell of a jol. Any spare cash will be pumped into the bus booze fund. It can probably be done cheaper, if I search for hotels and tickets separately and if I remove a few vehicle excess waivers etc, BUT, I want a hassle free weekend and I’m sure you do too. The cheapest deal I have found is £249 on eurostar for two nights and ticket. This will be way better.

Get back to me if you’re interested, demand for the trip is huge already. And remember, memories are for life unless you get Alzheimers!

Cheers

PS: Any takers for the role of Bus driver, £20 discount?

Dave - just a thought. You should take enough beer to last you through to Calais and then pick up the rest at Calais - duty free and all!!!
