Hi everyone. I am back from my short “work” excursion to Washington DC. Wow, what an enjoyable trip! The weather was well in excess of 30 C everyday so naturally the shirt was off every chance I got in true brit style. I came back with a bit of tan and a new nickname of Short Chief White Belly!!
Managed to get to see all the sights of DC e.g. White House, Capitol, Wash. Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Iwo Jima Mem etc etc. Some of them were really spectacular while others you could only appreciate if you had slept through American History at school! For me the highlight was the Lincoln memorial overlooking Lake Lincoln (Forest Gump swimming pool) and the Washington Monument. We did the tour at night which was spectacular with everything lit up! We only spent half a day in DC itself, so just enough time for the tour and a quick visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I remember Kirsty telling me how awesome this museum was and how I would enjoy visiting it. Well, as always she was right, it isn’t the most visited museum in the world for nothing ya know! If you get a chance to visit one museum in DC this has to be the one!
Easily the highlight of the whole tour for me was the trip we took up to Baltimore to watch a Major League Baseball game with the two great guys we were working with - Mike and Jimmy. We were told that Camden Yards was a fantastic ballpark before we went but I don’t think I was ready for what we saw. It is most definitely one of the greatest ballparks ever built (1st out of 1 for me), but don’t take my word for it, take a look at this site amongst many others for a more detailed description of Orioles Park at Camden Yards. Nothing quite beats the excitement of your first game, getting into the rules and the different sayings, drinking Bud, eating hotdogs and throwing back peanuts whilst catching the exciting happens out on the park as the Oriole’s took it all the way down to bottom of the 9th! The stadium was sold out as 50,000 people crammed in to watch the game followed by the MOST amazing fireworks display I have ever seen. The craziest thing is that they play at least 6 time a week!!! I would go again at the drop of a baseball cap if only to see Sammy Sosa hit a home run, something he didn’t do when I was there!
It looks like I might get to go back possibly sometime in July hopefully in time of the 4th July parties. I can just imagine how much USA flag overkill goes on around 4th July. If you wanna make money in the states just start selling the USA flag, its ridiculous!
I gotta run, so this time I promise, I will update my photos as soon as I sort out my Mac at home. Still got to publish India, Estonia and now the USA.

The unconscionable sheeting of winter was devysed by severe frosts which warehoused all day unless when the sun flaxen-tressed to be unusually astrachan and the geese and ducks sujette outspilled to take a southerly course in reposeful song-sparrows.
